THE WELL RESOURCED LEADER
A community of high-performers who are committed to doing less and leading more.
Created by Mandy Balak
Are you a leader?
If others are watching you—whether it’s your team, your family, or your peers—you are a leader.
Leadership isn’t about a title.
It’s about influence, presence, and how you show up in the world.
The truth is, the best leaders know this: leading others begins with how you lead yourself.
To lead well and live fully, you must first become well-resourced.
What Does it Mean to be a Well Resourced Leader?
The Well Resourced Leader™️ is someone who embodies these characteristics:
1️⃣ Grounded: Emotionally stable and aligned with their values, even under pressure.
2️⃣ Rested: Prioritizes mental and physical rest, knowing that energy is a leader’s most valuable currency.
3️⃣ Calm: Makes thoughtful, logical decisions without reacting to chaos or stress.
4️⃣ Balanced: Creates harmony between personal life, team dynamics, and workload, valuing well-being alongside productivity.
5️⃣ Alive and Present: Fully engaged in the moment, bringing energy, focus, and vitality to every interaction.
6️⃣ Stable: Consistent in actions and emotions, providing a secure and safe foundation for their team.
7️⃣ Resourced: Equipped with the right tools, support, and people to make impactful decisions and achieve sustainable success.
The Well Resourced Leader™️ Is NOT:
Equally important is understanding what being well-resourced does not look like.
The under-resourced leader:
❌ Mistakes busyness for productivity.
❌ Believes they need to do everything alone.
❌ Operates in survival mode, ignoring rest and personal well-being.
❌ Reacts impulsively to challenges instead of responding with intention.
❌ Sacrifices personal goals and values to meet others' needs.
❌ Overcommits out of fear of saying no.
❌ Spreads themselves too thin, lacking focus on their strengths.
❌ Neglects financial stability, operating from a place of scarcity.
❌ Seeks validation in external success rather than internal alignment.
Why This Matters
The world doesn’t need more half-hearted leaders. It needs leaders who are fully ALIVE in their mission, grounded in their purpose, and intentional in how they use their energy.
Being well-resourced isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.
It’s about understanding that you can only lead others effectively when you lead yourself first.
How to Become a Well Resourced Leader
Start by asking yourself:
What am I saying yes to that isn’t aligned with my values?
Where am I spreading myself too thin?
Do I tend to be reactionary or am I proactive?
How can I set boundaries to protect my energy and focus?
Am I busy in the doing or am I focused on leading?
Your Next Action: Look at your commitments this week. Ask yourself: Are these commitments helping me move the needle, or am I perpetuating the busyness hamster wheel?
