February Reset: Lead Yourself First

Stop chasing, start savouring. Here’s your reset for a well-resourced month.

If January felt like a whirlwind, take a deep breath.

You are not behind.
You don’t need to sprint into February.
You need clarity on what actually matters.

This is your chance to reset—with intention. And if you needed permission, here it is: Happy Lunar New Year. January was just a practice round.

Now, with fresh energy, you get to choose how you move forward.

But before you rush ahead, let’s pause.

We don’t learn from doing alone—we learn from reflection, integration, and intention.

Step 1: Celebrate Progress (Instead of What’s Missing)

High achievers often fixate on what’s missing, where they fell short, or what they should have done differently—fueling the endless chase for enough. The way out? Recognizing and celebrating what did happen.

Write an Already Done List:

What are you proud of from January?

What progress did you make, even if it was small?

What did you handle well that you might have overlooked?

This practice builds confidence and reinforces that you are already enough—not just when you achieve more, but because of who you are.

And in case no one has said it to you lately…. you’re doing an amazing job.

Step 2: Get Clear on What Actually Matters This Month

The best leaders aren’t the busiest.

They’re the most intentional.

So before you add more to your plate, get clear on what’s essential this month.

What energy are you bringing into February? ( choose one word )

What are you letting go of? (If you keep telling yourself the same story, it will repeat.
Let that sh*t go.)

What does success feel like this month? Instead of just doing, how do you want to show up and who are you BEING?

Step 3: Align Your Time and Energy with Your Priorities

Self-leadership is about designing your life, not reacting to it.

What habits will help you feel your best? (Schedule them in.)

What projects actually matter? (Block deep work time.)

Who do you want to invest time in? (Reach out and plan time together.)

If it’s not scheduled, it’s not real. Protect your focus and energy accordingly.

The Hard Truth: Are You Getting What You Want?

If not, what are you choosing?

This month, every time you catch yourself saying, "I can’t (insert goal here)",
replace it with: “ I am choosing not to. “

Because the truth is, you are always in choice.

You are either choosing alignment, or you’re not.

And if you’re not changing it, you are choosing it.

A Challenge to Carry Into Your Week:

Make one decision from a place of clarity, not urgency.

Say no to something that isn’t aligned.

Notice every time you default to “I have to” and replace it with “I choose to.”

This is what it means to be a well-resourced leader—to lead yourself first so you can lead others better.

So, what does better look like this month?
