Why You Keep Burning Out

It might be time to let go.

There are two types of burnout – the second one might surprise you.

  1. The Overachiever Trap: You're juggling too much, trying to catch every ball thrown your way—resulting in an overachievement at work but an underachievement in life.

  2. Your Unfulfilled Potential: Here lies your dreams and talents that may be suppressed, either because they are undervalued, under-utilized or because you commit to projects that don't align with your values.

If #1 resonates, it may be time to assess which balls are glass, needing careful handling, and which are rubber, able to bounce back if dropped.

If #2 strikes a chord, this is an invitation to reflect on what you truly want to be doing and, why you're not doing it.

THE PROMPT

âš¡ GET REAL
Identify which type of burnout you’re closer to experiencing. Acknowledge the areas where you feel overwhelmed or unfulfilled. Is this a repeating cycle for you?

âš¡ GET CLEAR
What dreams are you suppressing? Is there anywhere you can say NO and LET GO to create more space for a f*ck yes?

âš¡ GET MOVING
Choose one small, actionable step you can take this week to align more closely with your ideal work-life balance or to engage more deeply with something you're passionate about.

Pro tip: If you're looking to get closer to your joy, ask yourself – what would my inner child enjoy doing? Go do that.

âš¡ GET RESOURCED
Consider how you're investing in your most precious resources – your time, energy, attention and money. Are they yielding a return on inspiration? If not, what needs to shift?
