- You’re allowed to want more and rest anyway.
You’re allowed to want more and rest anyway.
The truth about ‘more’? It’s not a destination.
The leaders I know—maybe like you—carry an invisible weight.
It’s that nagging voice in the back of your mind, the one that shows up late at night when you’re staring at the ceiling:
"Did I do enough?"
You’ve built businesses, raised teams, launched ideas, and led through some seriously uncertain times.
But when you look in the mirror, that voice doesn’t let up:
“Why didn’t you hit that goal?”
“You should’ve done more.”
“What do people think of me?”
If that feels familiar, let me tell you something I’ve learned from working with high-achieving leaders:
They all want more.
More impact.
More joy.
More freedom.
More fulfillment.
But here’s the thing about more —it’s not a destination. It’s a moving target.
It’s like chasing a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Each time you think you’re close, the goalpost moves. The horizon shifts. The rainbow fades.
Are you exhausted too?
The truth?
The pot of gold doesn’t exist.
But what does exist—the only thing that’s real—is the ground beneath your feet right now.
Where you are today is a place a past version of you dreamed about.
Take a second to let that sink in.
You’re standing in a moment you once wished for.
Are you present to that truth?
Why Rest is the Real Power Move
I get it—you’re wired to keep going. You’ve built your life on momentum.
But rest isn’t indulgent. It’s necessary.
Think about it — you wouldn’t sprint the entire marathon. You’d pace yourself.
Rest is where your next breakthrough is born. It’s where creativity thrives, ideas spark, and resilience builds.
More importantly, rest is where you can finally experience how far you’ve already come.
Permission to Pause
As we close out the year, I’m handing you a permission slip…
Stop chasing. Start celebrating.
You don’t need to wait for the next milestone to feel proud of yourself.
✍️ Here’s a 7-minute practice to help you pause this week:
Grab a notebook and set a timer for 7 minutes.
Reflect on this question: What am I proud of this year?
Maybe it’s a habit you finally stuck to.
Maybe it’s a risk you took.
Or maybe it’s simply surviving a tough season.
Write without judgment.
You might be surprised by what surfaces when you take a moment to acknowledge your wins—big or small.
Embrace a Leader’s Mindset for 2025
The new year is on the horizon.
You can dive straight into the next goal or project—or you can choose to start from a place of clarity, calm, and alignment.
The leaders I admire the most don’t hustle their way through burnout. They pause. They recalibrate. And then, they move forward with intention.
This choice—to pause and recharge—isn’t just an act of self-care.
It’s leadership.
Great leaders understand that leadership starts from within—it begins with how they lead themselves.
Next week, I’ll be sharing more about my 7-Week Framework: From Chaos to Calm.
Teaser: I am looking for 10 amazing humans who know they want to THRIVE in ‘25.
But for now, let this be your reminder to slow down, reset, and lead yourself with compassion as the year winds down.
You deserve it.
Here’s to closing 2024 with peace and stepping into 2025 with intention.
In love and leadership,
❤️ Mandy
